What Is Dysport®?

Dysport® is typically used to treat the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face and forehead. Derived from Botulinum, Dysport® is a botulinum toxin therapy that reduces the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing the muscle’s natural contractions.This smooths out the top layer of skin, giving you a more refreshed, energized appearance. There is also no downtime associated with this treatment. Typically, patients can expect treatment to take less than half an hour.

How Is Dysport® Different From BOTOX®?

The biggest and most important difference is in the formulations. BOTOX® is a potent injection, geared more towards deep wrinkles in smaller areas. Dysport® is less concentrated, and is designed to spread quickly compared to BOTOX®. This makes it ideal for larger surfaces, like the forehead.

How Does Dysport® Work?

Your face is dynamic and constantly moving. This causes fine lines and wrinkles to naturally develop in the face. These may become more pronounced as you age, which can drastically alter your appearance. Because Dysport® is a gentle form of toxin therapy, it works by temporarily weakening muscles in the face, reducing the appearance of the overlying skin’s wrinkle. The finished result is a refreshed and revitalized appearance.

What Areas Can Dysport® Treat?

Dysport® is a popular and effective option for treating larger areas of fine lines and wrinkles. Deep lines in your forehead area can give you the appearance of frowning or scowling, which makes this treatment ideal for maintaining a youthful appearance. What Are the Benefits of Dysport®?

Generally, Dysport® filler starts working faster than BOTOX®. Patients can expect to see results in as little as 2 days (rather than 4). However, some patients may not see complete results for up to 10 days. Additionally, a single treatment can last for up to 3-4 months as opposed to BOTOX® injections, which last from 4-6 months. Because Dysport® injections are non-surgical, there is no downtime associated. Patients can return to their regular activities immediately afterward.

What You Can Expect From Your Session

Because treatment generally only takes 15-30 minutes, patients can conveniently schedule their treatment session into their lunch break. After discussing your treatment plan and desired outcome, Dysport® will be injected into the treatment areas using a very fine needle. The number of injections you may need will depend on the extent of your goals as well as the condition of your skin. Treatment usually takes 15-20 minutes to complete with zero recovery time, so you can get back to your routine as soon as possible. Results from Dysport® last about 3-4 months before a touch-up treatment is needed.

What do I need to wear?
