Sculptra® is designed for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, such as those caused by facial volume loss due to aging or from facial lipoatrophy (loss of fat). Sculptra® is a good option for those who want long-lasting effects from their injectable filler treatment but don’t want something as permanent as a surgical procedure like a facelift or laser resurfacing. The process begins with an injection of Sculptra® into the deeper layers of your skin. The material then starts working to stimulate your body’s own collagen production, creating new, healthy tissue underneath the surface of your skin. This new tissue will then be visible as natural-looking plumpness in your skin.
The treatment takes about 15 minutes per area treated and should be administered by a licensed and trained provider. Most patients experience minimal side effects from Sculptra®, but some may experience swelling or bruising at the injection site. You should let your provider know if you experience any pain or discomfort after treatment; this could indicate an infection.
Ageless by Sculptra® is injected with a small needle in and around deep nasolabial folds, chin wrinkles, and marionette lines. This procedure typically takes less than 30 minutes.
